End of an Era

A sad, sad day in Laker land. The single greatest threat to shoot the basketball in NBA history-- Stanislav (Slava) Medevdenko -- has been waived by YOUR Los Angeles Lakers. While I must admit that I am sad to see Slava go, how can you not love a guy that never shyed away from a shot, we added a solid swing player for the stretch run.

Jim Jackson, of hated and despised Ohio State Buckeye fame, is a key pickup for LA, and hopefully can add another scorer and defensive backcourt player to Kobe. With 21 games remaining, the Lake-Show needs to make a charge to get a better seed in the playoffs and hopefully JJ can help in that charge. With a strong win against Detroit over the weekend, it could lead to positive things ahead.

Alas, let me pour one out for the lost homey that is Slava... Slava we send out our love and hope that you can heal up and benefit some team with your onslaught of rapid fire jumpers.
